College Football Playoff rankings live updates: Countdown to today’s release after Week 13 games


Last week’s College Football Playoff rankings didn’t have a lot of drama, but Week 13 could make up for it. Six of the top 16 teams lost, including a pair of big upsets in the top 10. That means a shake-up in this week’s rankings, with a lot for the selection committee to sort out.

Alabama (at Oklahoma) and Ole Miss (at Florida), two teams seemingly closing in on spots in the 12-team bracket, both fell as road favorites and now have three losses. The highest-ranked three-loss team (excluding conference title game participants) in the four-team Playoff era was 2016 USC, which was ranked No. 9, and only two others have made the top 10 (2014 Ole Miss, 2018 Florida). Of course, more chaos is possible, but it’s an uphill battle for Alabama and Ole Miss to get into the field. They’ll be hoping they don’t drop too far and also rooting for help.
