Savas is expanding its reach thanks to Bergdorf Goodman.
The Nashville-based custom leather brand created by Savannah Yarborough has inked a deal with the retailer to introduce an expanded ready-to-wear collection at Goodman’s, the men’s store, beginning on Monday.
Yarborough grew up in Alabama, attended Central Saint Martins in London where she decided to focus on menswear. After graduating with a BFA in menswear in 2012, she joined Alabama-based Billy Reid eventually becoming the brand’s head of menswear. It was at Billy Reid that she developed a love for leather and she left to launch Savas in 2014, opening a store in Nashville where she created custom-made leather and fur outerwear. She launched a small collection of rtw in 2019 with bombers, blazers, hoodies and overshirts in leather or suede.
Since opening her initial 800-square-foot studio, Savas’s elevated American styles have become popular with celebrities such as Ryan Gosling and she now operates a store in Los Angeles as well.
“As an independent brand, it is an iconic moment to be launching our ready-to-wear collection with Bergdorf Goodman,” Yarborough said. “We have built a reputation as a luxury custom leather brand over the past decade, and are proud to be sharing our evolution with a global audience.”
Bergdorf had offered the brand’s custom pieces in both October 2023 and March 2024 but this marks the first time it is selling the ready-to-wear.
The fall collection includes key Savas styles such as a Black Melrose Suede Dinner Jacket with a tailored canvas interior, Oiled Lamb Denham trucker jacket and Hickory brown water-resistant calf suede Legend Western jacket.
“We’re thrilled to welcome the extraordinary designs by Savas back to Bergdorf Goodman this season,” said Young-su Kim, divisional merchandise manager of Bergdorf Goodman. “The brand codes, rooted in American classics with a sophisticated edge, continue to resonate with our customers and with the new, exclusive assortment, we look forward to continuing that momentum.”
Pieces designed exclusively for Bergdorf Goodman include dark brown nubuck calf leather, crafted into a lightweight double-breasted Condor Peacoat, the Crest Cafe jacket in black nubuck calf leather and a Walden Overshirt in Mariana blue calf suede featuring a deconstructed lining. Each of the Bergdorf Goodman exclusives feature an interior hand-illustrated label combining the heritage of the retailer’s stores blended with 1940s-style text that Savas uses for its branding.
The ready-to-wear collection will be available on the second floor of Goodman’s and the brand will host an activation for clients during the retailer’s made-to-measure event this fall.
