Crystal Palace vs Man City FA Cup final kick-off time confirmed

The FA Cup final between Crystal Palace and Manchester City will kick off at 4.30pm (11.30am ET) on May 17, the Football Association has confirmed.

The showpiece game has traditionally been played at 3pm although the kick-off time has been switched in recent years to accommodate broadcasting and safety requests.

Last year’s final, between City and rivals Manchester United kicked off at 3pm as did the previous year. The 2022 edition, contested between Liverpool and Chelsea, kicked off at 4.45pm local time.

The 4.30pm kick-off time at Wembley Stadium has been agreed in collaboration with both clubs, broadcasters, local authorities, police, and the Safety Advisory Group, the FA said.

Crystal Palace are attempting to win the FA Cup — the oldest domestic trophy in football — for the first time in their history. City have won it on seven occasions, including most recently in 2023.

This is the third time Palace have reached the final — losing 1-0 against Manchester United in a replay in the 1990 competition and 2-1 against the same opponents after extra time in 2016.

City are in their third successive final, losing 2-1 against Manchester United last year, having beaten their city rivals 2-1 a year earlier.

The Athletic reported earlier this week that tickets for the game are set to cost between £50 and £285, representing a notable increase on last year’s edition.

Although there are more expensive tickets in the premium sections and the hospitality area, the majority of tickets are expected to cost between £50 and £175, a sharp rise of up to 20 per cent for the priciest tickets outside of those more premium offerings.

Both clubs’ subsequent Premier League games have already been rearranged with City facing Bournemouth on Tuesday, May 20. Palace will face Wolverhampton Wanderers on the same evening.
