Elie Saab to Open First Branded Hotel in the Swiss Alps

MILAN — Elie Saab and Swiss architectural studio and developer A++ Group have unveiled a new hospitality project that will mark the fashion brand’s first foray into hotels.

The two parties will open the Post Hotel & Residences by Elie Saab in 2027 in Andermatt, located in the heart of the Swiss Alps and known for its charming village center and for offering different activities, from large ski areas to golf courses and scenic hiking trails.

The hospitality project will consist in relaunching the existing Hotel 3 Könige Und Post, a landmark dating back to 1788 that will be revamped by A++ Group, and adding new units around it, for a total of 21 design hotel rooms and 19 luxe residences offered over a 48,437-square-foot surface.

The investment is around 65 million euros, with an expected return of 140 million euros, said Paolo Colombo, cofounder and managing director of A++ Group. The firm, which groups 17 companies specialized in the industry, is Elie Saab’s long-term partner on branded real estate projects through Corporate Brand and licensee of the Elie Saab Maison collection through Corporate Brand Maison.

The fashion house’s chief executive officer Elie Saab Jr. said the unit in Andermatt “marks an exciting next step for our brand as we expand into the world of hospitality” after delivering more than 20 branded real estate projects globally — from Dubai to São Paulo — in the last five years.

As for the stylistic intervention in Andermatt, the plan is to preserve the 18th-century chalet-like charm of the original unit, while integrating contemporary elements. Executed by the A++ Group, the design will feature light-filled, spacious interiors defined by natural woods and plush fabrications with the goal to recreate a cozy environment and reflect the refined aesthetics of the Lebanese brand’s home collections, which will furnish the space.

Services will include two restaurants and an exclusive club, a state-of-the-art wellness spa, an indoor pool, a ski simulator, yoga area and fully equipped fitness center, among others. The property will additionally feature a dedicated ski and bike lounge, a kids’ club and a personal concierge.

“Through the restoration of this historic landmark, we are creating a destination that combines the charm of Andermatt’s heritage with the sophistication of modern luxury,” Colombo said. He stressed on the facility’s dual appeal of offering both residences and hotel accommodations, which he sees as a “unique opportunity for ownership and investment.”

“Owners can enjoy exclusive access to their residence, with the option to generate rental income during unused periods, all while experiencing exceptional amenities and the warmth of an alpine home away from home,” Colombo said.

The first phase of residences’ sales already kicked off, while construction works are set to begin in March to meet the completion in summer 2027, when the hotel is expected to open its doors, too.

“This lifestyle expansion is not new for us. It started five years ago, when we simultaneously launched our first furniture line with the first real estate project we did in Dubai,” Saab Jr. said. “We started because the brand, and my father especially, has a very strong vision for it. We knew we had a lot to give and to add to this world and the proof is the success of the [Elie Saab Maison] line. If you don’t have a very strong vision that differentiates you from what’s available on the market, then you can’t succeed — or even survive, actually.”

Saab Jr. teased that other projects similar to Andermatt are already in the pipeline, mentioning locations like Maldives and Casablanca. Meanwhile, Colombo is eyeing destinations closer to home, such as Lake Como and Milan.
