F1 Brazil GP live updates: Follow latest from today’s race with Lando Norris on pole

Hello and welcome to our live coverage of the Sao Paulo Grand Prix, which finishes under unique circumstances here at São Paulo today.

A torrential downpour on Saturday forced qualifying to be run this morning. And guess what — it rained again, causing five red flags and some big, consequential crashes. It’s the first time a grand prix qualifying and a grand prix have run on the same Sunday since 2019 at Japan.

This season’s world championship battle between Max Verstappen and Lando Norris has continued to be fascinating this weekend. Yesterday’s sprint race saw the McLarens swap Norris into the win late in the race to cut Verstappen’s championship lead over the British driver down to 45 points. And this morning, Verstappen exited qualifying early in Q2 when he was caught out by a red flag. He’ll start at the back of the field — while Norris starts on pole. 🔥

Meanwhile, the starting grid is full of surprising starting spots thanks to the qualifying chaos.

A win here today by Norris would increase McLaren’s lead in the constructors’ championship over Red Bull and Ferrari. Thanks for joining us. We’ll carry you all the way to the grand prix at 10:30 a.m. ET.
