Maybe the NFL had higher expectations for the New York Giants and Carolina Panthers before the season when the league decided to send these teams overseas for an international game. However, the NFL’s misguidance means a pair of 2-7 teams are heading to Munich for what could be a lackluster performance. The Giants are nearly a touchdown favorite entering this game, which is no surprise considering they’re facing the Panthers.
While the Panthers and Giants enter Week 10 with matching records, there are many reasons to be optimistic about the Giants’ chances in this game.

For one, they boast one of the NFL’s best pass rushes and have arguably the best interior defensive lineman in the NFL, Dexter Lawrence. His presence, combined with a motivated Brian Burns going against his former team, could cause problems for a Carolina offense with a poor offensive line, an unsettled quarterback situation and two fewer wide receivers after the trade deadline.
The other thing to watch here is if Daniel Jones’ home-road splits transfer to a neutral site game. While Jones’ overall numbers for the season are disappointing, he has been a vastly different quarterback away from Giants fans than in front of them this season. Not only are the Giants 2-2 on the road (compared to 0-5 at home), but Jones has a 97.1 passer rating and six touchdown passes to only one interception on the road, and a 71.8 passer rating with two touchdowns to four interceptions at home.
