Hyundai to halt Korean EV building amid low demand, tariffs


A Korean news outlet reports that Hyundai will pause EV production for one week as demand slows and US tariffs bite. By Will Girling

Hyundai will suspend electric vehicle manufacturing for one week (24-30 April 2025) at its plant in Ulsan, South Korea, according to local news agency Yonhap. The outlet states this is due to both low demand and the complications introduced by US import tariffs.
