Currently on press tour for his latest film, “A Minecraft Movie,” actor Jason Momoa counts on the support of his longtime groomer and makeup artist Jen Stanfield to prepare for red carpet events and interviews. The duo met on the set of “Aquaman” in 2017 and have been working together since.
Stanfield, who has also worked with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Hugh Jackman, Michael Fassbender and others, told WWD that when working with Momoa, she prioritizes sustainable beauty products.
“My kit for Jason is a thoughtful extension of his personal values — particularly his dedication to reducing single-use plastic and embracing sustainable, high-quality alternatives both on set and in his everyday life,” she said.

A passionate advocate for environmental issues, Momoa is known for partnering with sustainable companies, including Humble Brands, with which he released a new aluminum-free deodorant in March. The Rockrose and Cedar scent is now available at Sprouts’ farmer markets.
“The scent captures his spirit of exploration and reverence for the wild, blending it with Humble Brand’s commitment to high-quality ingredients and meticulous development process. I have a minimum of two deodorants with us at all times, one in the chair and one on set. He is an action star most of the time, so you can never have too much deodorant,” Stanfield said.
What’s included in Jason Momoa’s beauty routine?
First step, scrunchies. “We can’t live without them! In his everyday life and on set, he loves them in silk and velvet,” Stanfield said, adding that the scrunchies are chosen to match his outfits and his on-screen characters. “We used rose gold for Arthur Curry in ‘Aquaman 2,’ and we’re going through a lavender and purple phase at the moment. We get all our beautiful silk colors from Blissy, and the deep green velvet one is from his collection with So iLL.”

With his hair secured, Stanfield moves on to preparing his skin with a face oil by Vintner’s Daughter scented with organic botanicals, a recommendation from Momoa’s girlfriend, Adria Arjona. “Jason loves how it smells. I also use it in his beard daily,” Stanfield said.
Momoa’s skin care preparation also includes La Mer products, such as The Treatment Lotion (“I splash this all over Jason’s face. We have been using their products for a few years now. They have nice results and the effects are always calming”), The Lifting Firming Serum (We use this in the mornings. It keeps Jason feeling refreshed) and The Eye Balm (“This is a nice, rich eye cream we use at the end of the day. I slather him in when we wrap and send him home”).

For his lips, the groomer uses the classic Burt’s Bees lip balm. “This is a basic essential that we use throughout the day. We love it,” she said.
To hydrate the skin of his body, Momoa counts on Triumph & Disaster’s restorative body balm. “This is a New Zealand company we discovered while in production in NZ. We have been using this wonderful men’s lotion for the last year or so,” Stanfield said.

The actor, who founded Mananalu Powered by Boomerang Water in 2024, also always keeps an aluminum bottle of water from the company around him. “Hydration is key to both performance and skin care,” she said. “Lately, it’s been a customized Minecraft-themed bottle, while we’re on the global press tour promoting the film. Jason’s mission is to eradicate harmful single-use plastics from our planet.”
“A Minecraft Movie” is now available in theaters.
