First Lady Jill Biden elevated the classic trenchcoat with semi-sheer fabric while watching swimming events during the 2024 Paris Olympics on Saturday. FLOTUS later did a wardrobe change, fashioning a design by Ralph Lauren.
For her first look of the day, Biden wore a beige trenchcoat made of soft, organza fabric. The double-breasted trenchcoat included a cinched waist and favored soft lapels. Beneath the trenchcoat, Biden wore a dress in a soft pink hue.
The first lady added a pair of patent leather pumps in a similar shade to complement her look, which featured bow appliqués as well. To complete the ensemble, Biden wore bold statement earrings as her main accessory.
Later on during the day, Biden opted for a more casual look while attending the fencing competition. She styled a knit sweater, featuring an American flag and the iconic Olympic rings, along with a blazer courtesy of Ralph Lauren — identical to the uniforms the American designer created for the 2024 Olympians.
While in France over the course of the last several days, Biden’s wardrobe has favored soft blue hues — a potential sartorial nod to colors featured in the U.S. and French flag. For the opening ceremony on Friday, the first lady fashioned a pastel blue tailored top with sharp shoulders, a dainty belt at the waist and a coordinated midi skirt.
On Thursday, while speaking to family members of American Olympians, Biden merged her blue style trend with summertime elements, wearing a shirtdress with a white fabric base and scores of flowers and butterflies across the fabric.
Biden’s sartorial statements over the course of the last few days in Paris are indicative of her statement dressing for the occasion. The first lady merged high-fashion and style choices along with subtle and explicit patriotic attire — an ideal style combination for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
