After knocking on the door of the NBA Finals last season, the Minnesota Timberwolves shook up their roster in a massive way just a few weeks before the start of the regular season by shipping Karl-Anthony Towns to the New York Knicks for Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo.
Randle spent the last five seasons in New York, blossoming into one of the best power forwards in the NBA. He was named an All-Star three times in the last five seasons, making two All-NBA teams as well. Randle’s season was cut short last year following a shoulder injury suffered in January. However, prior to the injury, he was averaging 24 points, 9.2 rebounds and 5.0 assists.
DiVincenzo was one of the best three-point shooters in the NBA last season, making the third-most in the league with 283. He elevated his play each time his role increased in New York, playing big minutes and hitting consequential shots in the postseason.
