Lauren Sanchez commanded attention with her outfit at Donald Trump’s inauguration as the 47th President of the United States in Washington, D.C., on Monday. The journalist and fiancé of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos arrived in a monochromatic white outfit by Alexander McQueen, featuring a tailored blazer and a lace corset with floral detailing peeking through the jacket.
Sanchez was previously seen with the same outfit on Dec. 5, when she shared a mirror selfie on Instagram showing her look. “Winter white,” she captioned. Kelly Johnson styled her at the occasion.
Sanchez’s outfit quickly went viral on social media due to its daring aesthetic compared to other conservative looks seen at the inauguration.
The peekaboo bra trend had a major moment in 2023 on the runway and on red carpets, with designers like Elie Saab and Miu Miu embracing the style.
Since the beginning of her relationship with Bezos, Sanchez has been stepping on the red carpet more often. In 2024, she was seen in dresses by Pucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Valentino, Staud, Oscar de la Renta and Balenciaga.
Bezos, the founder of Amazon and executive chair of the company, had a prominent position at the ceremony, seated on the inauguration platform alongside other tech giants like Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg. Amazon contributed $1 million to Trump’s inaugural fund.
Donald Trump’s second inauguration as the 47th President of the United States took place on Monday in Washington, D.C. Following tradition, the day began with a worship service at St. John’s Episcopal Church and a White House meeting between incoming and outgoing presidents. The mandated swearing-in ceremony will happen on the West Front of the U.S. Capitol. Carrie Underwood is set to perform “America the Beautiful” at the event. Following the inauguration, guests and supporters of the President are expected to attend three evening celebrations, including the Commander in Chief Ball, Liberty Inaugural Ball and Starlight Ball.
