The Las Vegas Raiders gave defensive end Maxx Crosby a $6 million raise for 2024 in a reworked contract, a league source said.
The deal doesn’t add years to Crosby’s contract and includes moving $1.2 million from his 2026 salary into his 2025 pay, the source said.
ESPN was first to report news of the reworked deal.
Crosby, 26, has three years remaining on his contract. He signed a four-year extension worth $95 million with more than $53 million guaranteed in March 2022.
Crosby has regularly been among a group of Raiders players at the team’s facility this offseason to work out, including linebacker Robert Spillane, offensive tackle Kolton Miller, receiver Davante Adams, quarterback Aidan O’Connell, center Andre James and defensive tackle John Jenkins. Their collective leadership has set an example for the other players.
“(Coach Antonio Pierce) challenged me early and (told me) it’s not just about me,” Crosby said in April. “There’s a lot of really good players, but the great ones bring others up. I took that personally. Guys like Spillane and John Jenkins and other dudes, it helps when you’ve got guys like that coming in because it gives the young guys no other option but to be here. We wanted to be here and work together and just continue building what we already started.”
Crosby became a Raiders star by tallying 52 sacks over his first five NFL seasons to go with 321 tackles, 124 quarterback hits and 88 tackles for loss. He has made the last three Pro Bowls.
Last season, Crosby had a career-best 14 1/2 sacks, earning him second-team All-Pro honors. He also received a second-team All-Pro selection after the 2021 season.
The Raiders selected him in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft out of Eastern Michigan.
