We are more than 48 hours into the legal tampering window and less than four hours from the opening of the new league year, but free agency has settled into a lull.
On Monday, 59 of our top 150 free agents agreed to terms. On Tuesday, only 22 did so. So far today, we’ve had only one (CB Tre Brown, No. 127, going to the 49ers).
Most of the top options are long gone. Each of our top 10 players has agreed to terms, and No. 11, Javon Hargrave, is expected to agree with the Vikings today after he’s officially released by the 49ers.
Of the top 21, only Stefon Diggs (No. 12) does not have an expected destination. Nine players (not including Hargrave) remain in the top 40.
Of the 82 players with reported agreements, 48 are on defense, including 13 at cornerback, 12 at edge, nine at defensive tackle and nine at safety. No offensive position has more than eight players off the board.
