Sabrina Carpenter made quite the impression at the 2024 MTV VMAs on Wednesday in Elmont, New York.
The “Taste” artist glittered in a beaded Bob Mackie gown dated to 1991, sourced from Tab Vintage. Carpenter’s white strapless frock featured an embroidered bodice with a sweetheart neckline.
Stylist Jared Ellner, who also counts Emma Chamberlain, “Riverdale” actress Lili Reinhart and Molly Gordon of “The Bear” as clients, dressed Carpenter for the occasion.
The singer wore her shoulder-length blond tresses in Old Hollywood waves with wispy fringe, while makeup artist Carolina Gonzalez gave her sparkly eyeshadow, mauve blush and wine red lip liner.
Carpenter is one of several performers at this evening’s ceremony, joining Halsey, Katy Perry, Lisa and more major acts.
The former Disney Channel star released her sixth full-length album, “Short n’ Sweet,” last month, debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. The LP features her hit singles “Espresso” and “Please, Please, Please.”
On Monday, WWD exclusively revealed Carpenter as Redken’s first-ever celebrity brand ambassador.
“Beauty, and especially my hair, is a big part of my identity,” she said in statement. “I’ve always dreamed of partnering with a hair brand and waited to find the right partner. It’s been the secret to keeping my hair looking its best and I can’t wait to share what we’ve been working on together.”
The MTV VMAs recognize the year’s best music videos, artists and songs. Megan Thee Stallion makes her hosting debut during the 2024 ceremony, held at the UBS Stadium in Elmont, New York on Sept. 11. Katy Perry will receive the honorary Video Vanguard Award, while performers include Shawn Mendes, Lenny Kravitz, Eminem and Karol G.
