The Ottawa Senators have signed forward Ridly Greig to a four-year, $13 million contract extension with an annual average value of $3.25 million, the team announced Friday. The contract will see him signed through 2029. Greig was in the final year of his entry-level deal and before signing the extension, was set to become a restricted free agent at season’s end.
The 22-year-old forward has six goals and 12 points in 37 games with the Senators this season. Over his NHL career, Greig has 21 goals and 47 points in 129 games, all in Ottawa. Greig was drafted in the first round with the 28th pick by Ottawa in the 2020 NHL Draft. The forward has made a home for himself in the Senators’ lineup as a versatile, all-situations forward who can play center or wing, and virtually anywhere in their lineup while contributing as a secondary scorer.
With that signing, the Senators have signed all three first-round picks from the 2020 draft class through 2029 or longer. Tim Stützle, the No. 3 pick, is signed through 2031 while Jake Sanderson, selected with the fifth pick, is signed through 2032.
