Swift loves a minidress, so this asymmetrical side-slit Versace gown is a good move for her. The button detailing is reminiscent of the iconic Elizabeth Hurley safety pin dress — always a good reference. Her side bang hairstyle and smokey eye offer the ideal balance.
Olivia Rodrigo: 4.5
This shimmery well-constructed gown shows a more grown-up side of Rodrigo, while the iridescent material keeps it feeling young. The clean lines might indicate a simple silhouette, but this dress is more than meets the eye: it’s fitted to perfection and the internal corsetry gives it perfect shape and simple elegance.

Are we starting to get tired of Barbiecore? Even this pink satin sheer bridal-inspired number feels very July 2023. In today’s news cycle, it’s already dated.

The idea of the “where are they now” boy band 20 years later is itself slightly depressing. And NSYNC stayed true to their history of ensemble dressing with this colorful sartorial mess. As terrible as their PVC-loving outfits were, we do miss the wild factor from some of those looks.

The shock value of Lil Nas X and fashion has worn off, and now it allows you to actually look at his outfit. The 1920s feathered headpiece is to die for; the white bustier, lace shirt and layered bra give sexy bride vibes. It’s not clear if the Bible is a clutch or just an attention grabbing prop; regardless, it feels inadequate.
Doja Cat: 2.5

Someone help Doja get freed from this spider web. Cutouts and netting dresses are all over the runways, but this feels too close to a Halloween costume to be taken seriously. However, from Day One she’s been taking risks with fashion, so her courage is to be applauded.

Another Halloween look, this time channeling the iconic Wednesday Addams. Her shimmery ’70s disco platform boots help decrease the spooky effect, but it’s not enough. Halloween is just around the corner: she should keep this look for then?

Red is the new pink, but for men it’s still a difficult color to pull off — especially on a top coat. When paired with white flowy pants and a black silky shirt, it reads adventurous granny raids the discount rack at the mall during the holiday season sales.
