Willow Smith‘s debut fashion collection with Moncler arrives on Thursday after it was unveiled at The City of Genius in Shanghai last October. The collaboration between the Italian luxury fashion brand and the artist merges a futuristic aesthetic with functional wardrobe pieces, inspired by Smith’s personal fashion approach and nodding to a new chapter ahead.
Alongside collaborating with Moncler on the collection, Smith also fronts the campaign. The recording artist styles looks with a distinct, imaginative take on duality and juxtaposition, inspired in part by Moncler’s own origins and appreciation for nature.

Shot mostly in black and white, the collection features a monochrome palette, imbued into the sculptural, futuristic wardrobe pieces. Smith’s dynamic poses give the pieces shape and elasticity.
“Minimalism and utilitarianism. Femininity and masculinity. Black and white. Bringing juxtaposing ideas together in an elegant way is something that really excites me, and I wanted to explore that in this collection,” Smith said.

“I’m incredibly passionate about the outdoors and exploring this magnificent earth. I imagine these clothes effortlessly transitioning from nighttime camping to high-fashion eveningwear,” Smith said.
Among the motifs featured throughout the collection, silver ring motifs and circular accents provide a sartorial nod to Willow’s piercings — appearing on hardware, as oversize features on T-shirts and hoodies, or threaded onto logo patches.

Other pieces in the collection include a standout down jacket dress, partially inspired by Moncler’s signature “duvets.” The collection capitalizes on minimalist style with maximalist sensibility. Sturdy protective shells, tough fabrics, cocooning knits and heavy sweatshirts also feature throughout Smith and Moncler’s collection.
